Standing Behind Our Work
How It Began

Built By William Wade Head

Every company has a beginning. Ours didn't begin with a business plan or the goal of becoming the biggest paving company in Georgia. It began with a young man willing to work hard.

In the late 1970s, William "Wade" Head learned the asphalt trade while working alongside respected paving professionals like Slim Corsi and Tommy Moss. As a teenager, he discovered a trade he enjoyed and believed could provide a good life for his family. that experience became the foundation of Quality Paving.

Like many family businesses, Quality Paving wasn't built by one person alone. It was built by hardworking men who believed in showing up, doing honest work, and taking pride in the finished product. Men like Domingo Mesa and Kent McHann stood beside my father over time, helping build not only parking lots and driveways, but the reputation our company still carries today. Their loyalty, craftsmanship, and dedication became part of the foundation we continue to build upon.

2019 — Everything Changed

Inheriting A Responsibility

When my father passed away, I inherited far more than a business. I inherited the responsibility of protecting our family name, preserving the reputation built over decades, and leading a company through one of the most challenging seasons it had ever faced.

Taking over during the uncertainty of COVID-19 while grieving the loss of my father tested me in ways I never expected. There were days when the future felt uncertain, but quitting was never an option. Every challenge reinforced the responsibility I had been given — to continue what so many people before me had worked so hard to build.

The lessons my father taught me remain the standard I strive to live by today: do what you say you're going to do, stand behind your work, treat people fairly, and never stop pursuing quality.

Meet The Owner

Led By Gralon Head

I still consider myself a student. Every year I look for ways to improve our workmanship, our communication, our systems, and the overall experience we provide our customers. I don't believe we've ever "arrived." There is always another way to improve, another lesson to learn, and another opportunity to serve people better.

Over the past few years, my faith has become an increasingly important part of my life. It continues to shape the way I lead, make decisions, and view the responsibility of owning this company. We aren't perfect, and we never will be, but we strive to treat people honestly, keep our word, and approach every project with humility, integrity, and gratitude.

Those values influence everything we build — from our crews in the field to the systems and technology we're developing behind the scenes. We believe good tools should help us communicate better, stay organized, and serve our customers more consistently, but they should never replace relationships, accountability, or doing what's right.

The Vision

Building For The Next Generation

Our vision reaches far beyond today. I'm not building this company for the next quarter or even the next decade. I'm building it for the generations that come after me. My prayer is that one day my son, Grayden, will have the opportunity to continue this legacy if that's the path God has for him. My hope is to see Quality Paving celebrate its 75th anniversary while remaining rooted in the same principles that started it in hard work, honesty, quality craftsmanship, and genuine care for people.

There are many companies that can pave asphalt.

We want to be remembered for something more.

When someone looks back on their experience with Quality Paving, I hope they remember a company that kept its word, treated people with respect, cared about the details, and always tried to do the right thing — even when no one was watching.

Because in the end, that's the kind of legacy worth building.

What Doesn't Change

The Same Standard Since Day One

Every generation of Quality Paving has held to the same standard: prepare the site properly, use materials we trust, hit the right density, cure it for the right amount of time, and stand behind the finished lot.

Equipment has improved. Mix designs have improved. Materials like GemSeal PolyTar® and DuraCrack® are dramatically more advanced than what was available . What has not changed is who owns the outcome. When our name is on a job, we finish it, we sign it, and we come back if something isn't right.

That is what "family owned" is meant to mean in a trade business — not a marketing line, but a promise you can hold us to.
